WHAT I WOULDN’T GIVE She wanted a man who’s tender and strong. She wanted a kiss to build a dream on. Long walks, sweet talk and candlelight. She wanted the things that money won’t buy, but I never saw that look in her eye. She tried to tell me something wasn’t right. I let her slip right through my hands. Lord, if I had just one more chance. What I wouldn’t give if there was a way to say all the things I didn’t say. I gave her the world but I couldn’t see wbat she really wanted most was me. Something was missing; I should have listened but I guess I never did. Now, everyday I have to live with what I wouldn’t give. That faraway smile; the way that she sighed. Those tears that I saw but never asked why. I see it all now, but it’s too late. So many clues, so many signs ― how could I have been so blind? © Allan Bullington & Larry Wayne Clark (IncaBull Music) & (BrainChild Music)
