Those of you with a modicum of clout or outreach in the TV/entertainment community, I've
been working to pitch songs to TV/film; this one, in particular, I feel could work sonically
and thematically on a show like "Dexter" or "Monk." MP3 of the following available soon
(musically, think Leonard Cohen, a la "Waiting for the Miracle). Feedback encouraged,
producers and/or musicians for instrumentation welcome. (kdovoric@comcast.net; Web:

"Displaced" -- See new Blog for a better idea of verse/chorus-structuring.
Take a look around –
Don’t recognize the scene?
Got a foreign feeling,
Like a beggar in a limousine?
They can’t see inside your windows,
Can’t peer inside your soul
Feel a pseudonym coming
On anonymous patrol –
You’ve been displaced
You think about the heartache
That you never could feel;
Look back on the relationships
That were never truly real.
You got a virtual attitude –
An impermanent smile.
Maybe you should try waking yourself up
Once in awhile –
You’ve been displaced.
Get back, get back
Get back to something else
Get back, get back
Get back to something else.
Do the Hollywood Shuffle,
Do the Stardust-Dream
There’s a villain on the train tracks
Doin’ cliché schemes
It’s the classic story arc:
Man vs. Self.
But if they wanted depth,
They’d go to a canyon or a wishing well –
You’ve been displaced.
