BIOGRAPHY
Johnny Henry is a born and raised Midwesterner hailing from St. Louis, MO. After touring the country in his previous band, Johnny is breaking out on his own with a brand new solo CD release!
He has just finished recording his brand new 5-song EP (entitled "Now") and will be set to release nationally very soon! Stay tuned for a release announcement!

Recorded in Nashville with many of Country music's top touring musicians and featuring background vocals by the amazing Rachel Proctor, this disc includes 5 heartfelt Country songs showcasing Johnny's powerful vocal ability.

Songwriters on the CD include Robert Ellis Orrall (Taylor Swift, Love and Theft), Angelo Petraglia (Kings of Leon, Tim McGraw), Doug Powell (George Strait, Montgomery Gentry), and Johnny himself. The first single "Old Fashioned Girl" will be hitting radio this spring.

Here's a note from Johnny:
My producer - good friend and amazing talent Scotty Huff, ran the recording process like clockwork, as well as coordinated the video and marketing facets of the project. Scotty has toured the world… first with The Mavericks leading their horn section, then spending many years on tour alongside Keith Urban as his rhythm guitar/banjo player and background vocalist. You can see Scotty in many of the videos from Keith’s first three CD’s, including “Who Wouldn’t Want To Be Me”, ‘’Where The Blacktop Ends” and “Somebody Like You” among others… and that’s Scotty singing the high harmony on Keith’s song “Raining On Sunday” from the album “Golden Road”. Scotty is now focusing his many diverse talents producing other artists and projects allowing him to stay home off the road with his wonderful family.

Scotty hired some stellar musicians in Nashville to play on my CD… Tim Horsley on drums (formerly with Keith Urban, now touring with Gary Allan)… Jason Mowery on fiddle and mandolin (formerly with Keith Urban, now touring with John Fogerty)... Robbie Emerson on bass guitar (formerly with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, now touring with Jake Owen)… Steve King on keyboards, piano, organ (formerly with Keith Urban)… Mike Daly on pedal steel and dobro (formerly with the Gibson/Miller Band, now touring with Hank Williams, Jr.)… J.D. Simo on guitar (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Goo Goo Dolls, Santana)… Jimmy Herman on fiddle and utility (currently touring with Carrie Underwood)... and last but not least singing background vocals with me and Scotty will be none other than Rachel Proctor, who has a beautiful voice and is a super-talented singer/songwriter (she wrote Martina McBride’s song “Where Would You Be”), and also has a successful recording career herself with her hit “Me and Emily”... and Country music royalty Jaime Hanna (who is now touring with Gary Allan).

We also filmed a music video for the 1st single “Old Fashioned Girl”. Directing the video, designing the CD artwork, doing the photo shoots and filming a documentary will be the ultra-creative Glenn Sweitzer. He has done videos and designed artwork for many of Country’s top acts, including Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum, JoDee Messina, and more. With a little luck and elbow grease we’ll be working to get the video for “Old Fashioned Girl” on GAC and CMT.

We’ll release the CD (it’ll be an ‘Enhanced EP’) sometime in early spring and it’ll contain the 5 songs as well as the video for “Old Fashioned Girl”! It’ll be available here on Digital Rodeo as well as on iTunes and Amazon.com for download. You’ll be able to hear these songs live too as my band and I have been rehearsing and we’ll start playing shows in early spring! I have a great group of awesome musicians playing with me and I can’t wait for you to hear these guys rock!

Keep in touch with me on Digital Rodeo and on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter… (if you’re on one of those and we’re not ‘friends’ feel free to add me).

Robbie Robertson

As a member of The Band, Robbie Robertson changed the course or rock music history, hipping the genre to a more old-timey sound with songs like “The Weight,” “Up On Cripple Creek,” and “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.” His latest solo album, How To Become Clairvoyant, reflects on his rock and roll past.

Taylor Swift: The Garden In The Machine

“Country music is truly music for everyone,” said Tim McGraw, as he and his wife Faith Hill prepared to announce the Country Music Association’s 2009 “Entertainer of the Year” award. “And that’s never been more apparent than with the diversity of tonight’s nominees.”

Jessica Lea Mayfield: Look At Miss Ohio

“Things are starting to get weird.”

Jessica Lea Mayfield, whose Nonesuch Records debut Tell Me is in stores now, is on the phone from her home in Ohio and we’re having a good laugh over her recent success. It’s beer o’clock on both ends of the phone, the last interview in a long week of talking to complete strangers for the two of us.
