I was blessed and fortunate to receive the "2008 Roots Music Association Gospel Artist of the Year Award" this past November, in San Marcos, Texas, during the World United Music Festival and Radio Conference. And by the grace of God, I won out over Ricky Skaggs and the Blind Boys of Alabama, who were both also nominated for the award, in my same category! That's why it had to be by the grace of God! Everybody has heard of Ricky Skaggs, but nobody has heard of me! It was impossible for me to win, yet I went home with it! I also received the "1994 International Country Gospel Music Association New Male Vocalist of the Year From Georgia Award". It would sound more impressive to just call it the "New Male Vocalist of the Year", instead of adding "From Georgia", but ...
