BIOGRAPHY
Everyone says they like all type of music, but Dale Writes and Performs all types. Style and arrangements ranging from Queen to John Lennon - From Ray Charles to Phil Collins (get the drift?) and his Piano Ability has been compared to the great Elton John & Billy Joel, performing Rock to Classical to Country. Dale has been performing and writing for many years, yet has never even attempted to "make it" in professional music.

Having been in Christian and top 40 Bands, he has acquired styles and influences from everywhere.

Dale has recenly released "Take Your Time", "Love" ,"I'm in Love with the Weather Girl", "You Better Hide", "Easy on the Eyes" and "Where Do the Hours Go?" to his Newest rep PLUS many songs that won't fit into the 8MB size limit here, with full orchestration.

Dale plays Piano, Synthesizer, Drums and Auxillary Percussion. It's been said that "Dale Sings like a Hungry Kid!" He also perform Over 175+ accurate Vocal Impressions, which automatically comethru in his natural vocals.

Dale lives in NASHVILLE TENNESSEE and hopes his Marketable Tunes will be recognized and recorded, if not by himself, by other worthy Artists.

"I will always strive to make each song become 3-D and ALIVE, otherwise, what's the point?" Dale looks forward to meeting people on this website, from other Artists and Writers just starting out, to record Producers and Meeting and Interacting with Top Recording Stars.

Each Song Dale has listed on this site is Different, and reflects his amazing writing and performing diversity. He is Professional, Experienced and can Hit the Ground Running. Also, look for Dale's New Traveling Variety Show.

Please contact Dale Preston - even if you're a huge star, your privacy will be respected and you are guaranteed professionalism. Expect Originality, Vision and Calculated & Educated Risk :o)

"Music has virtually no limitations other than what we place on it". Give Dale's songs here a listen - even the 'one minute test' and you'll appreciate the diversity and creativity. Dale will challenge any of these young punks to a 100 yard dash too :o)

INFLUENCES
I always look at influences and tend to rejudge what the artist is all about. I think rather than the obvious, I'll go with Yankees Slugger Babe Ruth. Did you know he struck out more than any other in his time? And Edison discovered over 10,000 ways not to make a lightbulb. There's nothing wrong with learning as you go. Nobody fails unless they stop trying. I'll have to go with the Babe here on this one :o) Beyond that, I learned my piano skills mostly from Elton John, Billy Joel, Styx, Barry Manilow... My vocal stylings have been influenced by from Billy Joel, Cliff Richard, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Phil Collins, Aerosmith...TONS of others I play piano according to whatever style is appropriate for each individual song.

SONG CUTS
All Songs posted are Recorded as Demos. These I have written mostly for Myself to Perform but they are established and worth hearing and considering for Radio and CD, TV Shows, Feature Films etc. I do not write for the sake of writing. The songs you hear have been well thought thru and I feel are inspired and even annointed at times A few still give me goosebumps each time I play them :o) There's too much "formula & manufactured" music out there taking up too much precious space. Some songs take 10 minutes to write, other songs, "I'm in Love with the Weather Girl", took about 8 years" If I don't feel a song is ready to hear, it will not be posted. You get one chance to make a first impression.

Legends: Bobby Braddock

In Nashville, most successful songwriters have a fairly short run. On hit, one year, two years, five years. Occasionally, we get one whose career approaches the length of a real career or, more often, one who has a few years success, then slips into oblivion, only to emerge again for another brief era of hit-making.

Legends: Rickie Lee Jones

She speaks softly, not unlike the way she sings --soft, soulful passages, almost like secrets to the closest of friends --punctuated by bursts of exaltation. It's much like the span of emotion in her work, and in her new record, Balm in Gilead, which veers from the pure, naked heartbreak of "Bonfires" to the elation of "Old Enough," to the beautiful "Wild Girl," which celebrates the 21st birthday of her daughter, while simultaneously reflecting on the unchained fervor of her own wild days.

Q&A With Squeeze's Chris Defford

After practically defining the New Wave genre in the '80s and, with partner Glenn Tilbrook, writing some of the classic pop songs of the late 20th century, Squeeze's venerable co-writer Chris Defford went the solo route, with detours into film scoring and the occasional Squeeze reunion.

Q&A With Joe Pernice

Already considered a songwriter's songwriter for his high-lonesome tunesmithery with the Scud Mountain Boys and shimmering power-pop with the Pernice Brothers, Joe Pernice has launched a fiction writing career that promises as much critical acclaim and cultural valence as his music.
