BIOGRAPHY
'Will I kill the beast or the beast kill me? Will I kill the beast or the beast just die?' Ramped up with a cinematic score and scope, Dawson Wells combines the dark and intimate nights of 'Automatic for the People' with the street wise desires of 'Born to Run' to create a sound that is both personal and epic. Grappling the shifty shadows with force and coy swagger, Dawson Wells weaves bombast into groove and style to bolster the wavering voice of the common man in peril.

SONG CUTS
I've cut two full length records of my own material, and Butterfly Boucher has cut two songs we wrote together, 'All of the Things' and 'Cinnamon and Chocolate' both of which appear on Ten out of Tenn Compilations and will most likely be released in some future version of a Butterfly album or single. I don't know if I answered this question correctly though. Does cutting your own songs count? I am not savvy to the lingo the kids are using these days. I've either had 22 or 2 cuts. Either way, lots of my work to listen to.
AWARDS & ACCOLADES
I gave myself the mvp award for best guitar performance on a dawson wells record in 2008 for 'Boulevarder' And was awarded some very nice dinners for my contributions to 'All of the Things' and 'Cinnamon and Chocolate'. Not to mention many a verbal accolade from friends and peers alike. Does that count?

Q&A: Bright Eyes

After a brief stint as a solo artist, Conor Oberst has revived Bright Eyes to release The People’s Key, an album that deals with the nature of time, spirituality, and human existence. Also, it’s Rastafarian friendly.

Taylor Swift: The Garden In The Machine

“Country music is truly music for everyone,” said Tim McGraw, as he and his wife Faith Hill prepared to announce the Country Music Association’s 2009 “Entertainer of the Year” award. “And that’s never been more apparent than with the diversity of tonight’s nominees.”

Sessions: David Bazan

It was pretty slow. I mean, I played [the songs] on acoustic guitar for a long time, but I didn’t know how to transfer them to the other format. I didn’t want it to be a solo acoustic record. I wanted there to be bells and whistles and full band arrangements even if I didn’t want it necessarily to be electric guitar rock....

Sessions: Vetiver

“It’s always slightly confounding to me whenever Vetiver is depicted with the same tropes that people have read off of press sheets,” says Andy Cabic. “The same sort of milestones get mentioned but then no one really digs to find out that there are those other things going on.”
