Dan grew up in Toledo, Ohio and had his first working band "The Hangsmen" in 7th grade playing bass. It was this same year that he wrote his first song. Since then songwriting has been his life's passion.

He studied music at the University of Toledo majoring in both Bass and Classical Guitar. Upon graduation, Dan taught guitar at the Sam Martinez School of Guitar and performed locally with The Blues Folk Revival.

In 1975, he fell in love with Arizona and moved to Phoenix, were he resides today.

Dan performed in the Phoenix area with blues harmonic great Bill Tarsha and formed the duet "Imagination".

Each morning, he can visualize his future Grammy nomination.
