American Songwriter Magazine and AmericanSongspace.com are conducting a contest for song placement on The Craft of Music Vol. 3 CD Compilation, to be inserted and distributed in the upcoming November 2008 Issue. Two [2] of the twenty-two [22] tracks on this CD Compilation are reserved for the winning entrants as the AS Staff is searching for two [2] unknown songs to showcase alongside the best songwriters of all genres.  Last year’s winning songwriters, Alpha Rev and Todd Lombardo, were included on Vol 2. with artists such as Ryan Adams, Rilo Kily, Steve Earle, Guy Clark, Shout Out Louds, Josh Ritter, A Fine Frenzy, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.  Vol. 1 included artists Cat Power, Ray Lamontagne, Jenny Lewis, Pete Seeger, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Patsy Cline, The Avett Brothers, Lead Belly, and M.Ward among others. Submissions are open to all genres of music -the two winners will also receive editorial coverage in the Nov/Dec 2008 issue, editorial coverage on Americansongwriter.com, and promotion of AmericanSongspace.com.
