A bunch of Y'all have asked me about co-writing with Smokey Robinson. "Relentless" is one of the songs I wrote with him. I was soooo excited when Smokey said he wanted to write with me. I had studied the structure of his songs and he was one of my favorite writers as well as artists. I assumed we would write a "Smokey" type song. He said "No...you are the queen of heart break country songs-- I wanna write a country song with you!" Well...I am absolutely horrible at LOVE songs and you are the KING of unique love songs," I replied," so how about we write a country love song?" Relentless is the result! What a delight to write with Smokey and to experience his"Smokey Joe" side. His nickname as a cowboy loving child was Smokey Joe.
